Her research interests are in international migration, digital economies, race/ethnicity, social media, and computational social science. Her current research employs machine learning methods such as structural topic modeling, and sentiment analysis to analyze social media discourses. Furthermore, she is exploring different ways, in which new methodological developments in computer science such as random forests, deep neural network, and vision recognition can assist social scientists in studying social phenomena. She has taught at City College of New York.
