We review new developments in the theory of one particle localization on the Bethe lattice with the emphasis to the definition, detection and
characterization of the new phase in which the weave functions are delocalized but do not occupy all the available space (non-ergodic).
We also discuss recent numerical results in interacting quantum systems which indicate to existence of such an intermediate extended non-ergodic phase.
