Frequently Asked Questions

Nanoscience

How long does it take to complete the program?

The program can be completed within two or three years, depending on the student’s enrollment (either full-time or part-time).

Does the program offer Saturday and evening classes?

Most courses will be during the daytime hours on weekdays. There is a possibility for evening courses in some semesters. Saturday classes are not currently being offered.

Is there a spring admissions cycle?

We do not have a spring admission cycle.

Is there a summer semester?

There is no summer semester.

Is it possible to complete this degree while remaining employed?

Yes, but the course hours will vary from semester to semester; students can enroll in the program as full-time or part-time students.

Will the M.S. Nanoscience program accept the GMAT, LSAT, or MCAT in the place of the GRE?

Unfortunately, we cannot accept the LSAT or MCAT instead of the GRE. All applicants must take and provide their GRE scores for admission consideration.

How do I upload an unofficial transcript if my institution does not provide unofficial copies?

If your institution does not provide an unofficial or online student copy of the transcript, then you need to request an official one to be sent to you. That copy should be opened, scanned and uploaded into the online application form. You may want to request two copies from the issuing institution and keep one unopened, so that if you are admitted you will have an official copy available to forward to the admissions office prior to registration. Only admitted applicants are required to send an official transcript.

If my transcripts are issued in a language other than English, what should I do?

Applicants who attended institutions that issue transcripts only in a non-English language format need to upload a file that contains an English translation from a certified translation service. The scanned file also needs to contain the original document that the translation represents as well as the certified translation.

What are tuition and fee costs

The current tuition and fee costs can be found at the Prospective and Current Student website.

Are loans available to foreign students?

As a foreign student, you may not be eligible for loans, but you may be able to work at the university under your visa. For details, visit the Office of International Students website. The total cost for tuition is comparably low, however.

I have U.S. citizenship. Would the loans cover tuition and living costs?

This will depend on the type of loans that you are eligible for and which ones you end up getting. Follow this link for further information.
