Our services are free to matriculated students registered at The Graduate Center, CUNY and the Craig Newmark School of Journalism.

Please note that you must present your student I.D. with a validation sticker for the current semester in order to be eligible for services.

If you are ineligible for our services (e.g., temporary students, visiting scholars, non-degree/non-matriculated students, faculty and staff who are not students, and students registered at other CUNY campuses), please visit our Resources page or our Crisis/Emergency Information which may assist you.

If you would like to speak to one of our counselors, you can:

To schedule an appointment with a counselor, please download and complete a Request for Services form. The completed form, along with a picture of your student I.D. with current validation sticker may be submitted via email to wellness@gc.cuny.edu. (Please note that email is not secure.)

You can expect to hear from a counselor within a week (7 days) to schedule an appointment.

At this initial meeting, the counselor will ask about your most immediate concerns, as well as the broader context of your life. Toward the end of the initial meeting, you and the counselor will think together about what service(s) will be the best fit for you. We offer a range of services and have an extensive referral network of local clinicians and agencies that collaborate with on a regular basis.

Taking into account your preferences, the counselor will consult with our treatment team and follow up with you about the next steps. This usually takes about a week. Feel free to ask the counselor any questions you have about the process.
