50th Anniversary Benefit Concert

Join us to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Graduate Center.

The Graduate Center will culminate its year-long celebrations on April 19, 2012, with a benefit concert by Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks playing the arrangements of Chappie Willet. A cocktail reception will follow.

Vince Giordano; Photo Credit: Steve Friedman 2010Vince Giordano is a popular musician and musical scholar, whose knowledge of music from the 1920s and 1930s has given his Nighthawks band a key role to play in the HBO hit series Boardwalk Empire.

Chappie Willet, the subject of a recently completed doctoral dissertation by Graduate Center musicology student John Wriggle, was a celebrated arranger for the likes of Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, and Gene Krupa.
