Event and News Feature Image Templates
The Office of Communications and Marketing has created Canva templates designed for use on the Graduate Center website, specifically the event and news feature images. (For examples showing the feature image, see screenshots with the feature image outlined in red: event example and news example.)
These templates will add a compelling visual element to help promote your events and news stories. The templates are sized accordingly for the GC website and allow for a consistent and professional look. It also saves you time and effort, as you don't need to start from scratch when designing your graphics.
When utilizing the templates, ensure you are using high quality images that are appropriately sized and abide by web accessibility requirements. For directions on using the templates, review the directions below.
Event Feature Image
Image dimensions: 2130px by 1200px
News Feature Image
Image dimensions: 2560px by 1440px
Template Directions
- Sign into Canva. You can register for a new Canva account or use your existing Canva account.
- Once you are signed in, click the link above to access the template you would like to use.
- Upload your images: On the left, click "Uploads" and select Upload files to add your images from your computer.
- Place your images in the template by dragging them from the left to the template on the right. Each image will "snap" into place.
- Reposition and/or resize your images within the template: Double click on the image and then a four-way arrow will appear as your mouse.
- Reposition the image by dragging your image around, or
- Re-size your image by dragging a corner of your image to make it larger or smaller.
- Double click on the image once you are done repositioning and resizing the image.
- Once you are happy with the image, download the image: On the top right, click Share and then Download, select your file type (JPG or PNG) and select Download.
