The Compliance and Diversity Office is responsible for administering the CUNY Graduate Center’s recruitment, hiring, appointment, and equal opportunity policies and procedures ensuring compliance with related laws, rules, and regulations dealing with human rights. This includes providing the CUNY Graduate Center, Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY, and Macaulay Honors College communities with training on search procedures and human rights policies, developing and administering the Graduate Center's Affirmative Action Plan, collecting and analyzing employee statistical data, maintaining records and preparing and submitting required internal and external reports, investigating human rights complaints (i.e., sexual harassment, discrimination, etc.), and administering the internal discrimination procedures.

Comprehensive Ethics Training Course (CETC)

The CETC is an ethics training mandated for all New York State officers and employees who file an annual Financial Disclosure Statement (FDS). The CETC is a live, two-hour, instructor-led training that covers the Public Officers Law and other related ethics laws and regulations. Please be advised that attending this live training will satisfy your CETC requirement.

Ethics Seminar Refresher Training

This is an ongoing training requirement for FDS Filers who have successfully completed the CETC course and are required to continue their mandatory ethics training requirements.

The Compliance and Diversity Office (CDO) will provide virtual E-SPARC trainings. 

E-SPARC is mandatory for all CUNY employees. Please be advised that Full-Time (F/T) employees (e.g. Graduate Assistants, Faculty, HEO series) must complete ESPARC by Friday, May 31, 2024. Part-Time employees (e.g. Adjuncts, Non-Teaching Adjuncts, College Assistants) must complete ESPARC by the end of the current semester. The ESPARC training is also available and can be completed via CUNY Blackboard. Employees can access ESPARC by signing into their CUNY Blackboard account and navigate to My Organizations to view and complete it.

Other Employee Trainings

DCAS Citywide Training Center’s Summer 2023 Course Catalog  is now available. Employees interested in enhancing their skills and abilities by attending professional development sessions during the summer months can do so by completing the DCAS Open Enrollment Application and forward to your supervisor and the Business Office for approval and authorization. Once approved by the Business Office, please email to University.Training@cuny.edu for review and processing.

The cost for attending a session range in price. You must notify PDLM at least 10 days before the course starts or the campus will be charged regardless of the “no-show(s)”. Please visit CUNY's Professional Development & Learning website for more detailed information.

You may forward your certification of course completion to the Office of Human Resources (OHR) for submittal to your personnel file.
