Curriculum and Degree Information
The M.S. Program in Data Analysis and Visualization provides students with an opportunity to learn about the basics of working with data, and to explore fundamental concepts and methods for data exploration and statistics, including visualization methods, principles of graphic design, media theory and history. Across our curriculum, the doing of data visualization is inseparable from thinking critically about data and digital methods.
After the core curriculum, students are encouraged to engage in interdisciplinary study and research by taking advantage of the numerous course offerings in other disciplines at The Graduate Center and at partner schools. Through a number of interdisciplinary certificate programs, students may choose to continue their studies into a formal four-course sequence in an allied field.
