IMMIGRATION SEMINAR SERIES

The Immigration Seminar Series (ISS) invites scholars of migration, race, and ethnicity from various interdisciplinary backgrounds to present their ongoing research. The seminar takes place monthly and is open to the public. 

Immigration Seminar Series will be held in the Spring on Wednesdays, 4:30-6:00 PM Eastern Time, with the following dates and speakers:

2/1: "An Ugly Word: Rethinking Race in Italy and the United States" by Dr. Ann Morning, New York University

3/1: "The New Noir: Race, Identity & Diaspora in Black Suburbia” Middle Class in Europe" by Dr. Arnfinn H. Midtbøen, University of California, Davis

3/15: "Racialized Assimilation of the Second Generation: The Emergence of a New “Marked” Middle Class in Europe" by Dr. Orly Clerge, University of Oslo
