The Graduate Center is publishing the fifth edition of its 'Lost & Found' series, which features unexpected, genre-bending works by important 20th century writers.

"Lost & Found: The CUNY Poetics Document Initiative Series V" will include recovered works by Kathy Acker (pictured right), William S. Burroughs (pictured below), Langston Hughes, and Jean Senac - four major writers responding to sweeping sociopolitical shifts around the globe.

Comprised of five chapbooks, these varied texts connect the liberatory politics and radical writing practices of New York in the 1970s, France and Algiers in the 1960s, and the Soviet Union and Turkestan in the 1930s.

"Like a team of ghostbusters, 'Lost & Found' brings our cultural past back to life, finding new works and unknown chapters in the lives and archives of some of our greatest literary figures, from Amiri Baraka, Frank O'Hara, and Kathy Acker to Adrienne Rich, Muriel Rukeyser, and Diane di Prima, with many in between," said Professor Ammiel Alcalay (GC/Queens, English & Comparative Literature), who serves as general editor of Lost & Found.

"Lost & Found" has been a prominent project of the GC's Center for the Humanities since 2010. Poised at the intersection of scholarly investigation, innovative publishing, and cultural preservation, each series emphasizes the importance of collaborative and archival research.

Series V will be available June 23. For more information and to order 'Lost & Found: The CUNY Poetics Document Initiative,' visit: www.lostandfoundbooks.org.
