The Center for Latin American, Caribbean, and Latino Studies (CLACLS) of the CUNY Graduate Center, announced last year, the results of a study based on data from the Bureau of Vital Statistics of the city: more than 55,000 Dominicans arrived between 2010 and 2013. The author of the report, and director of the CLACLS, Professor Laird W. Bergad, said that in terms of projections,11,000 more children were born in 2013 and some 14,000 came to New York from other parts of the United States between 2010 and 2013.
