GC Chosen to Participate in AHA's Career Diversity for Historians Institutes

The Graduate Center is one of 36 institutions nationwide that have been selected to send representatives to the American Historical Society's 2017-2018 Career Diversity for Historians Faculty Institutes.

The Graduate Center is one of 36 institutions nationwide that have been selected to send representatives to the American Historical Society's 2017-2018 Career Diversity for Historians Faculty Institutes. Graduate Center faculty and administrators will join a collaborative effort to prepare historians for new opportunities within and beyond the academy.

Three members of the Graduate Center's Ph.D. Program in History- Professor Helena Rosenblatt, executive officer (pictured); Associate Professor Andrew W. Robertson, acting executive officer; and Professor Herman L. Bennett, executive officer of the Office of Educational Opportunity and Diversity-and Jennifer Furlong, director of the Office of Career Planning and Professional Development, will have the opportunity to attend the three institutes, beginning in June 2017. The AHA will provide full funding for one representative at each institute.

By participating in the institutes, the Graduate Center will be eligible to apply to host a fully funded AHA Career Diversity Graduate Fellow for the 2018-2019 academic year.
