Jay Golan Named GC's Vice President for Institutional Advancement and Executive Director of the Graduate Center Foundation
Interim President Chase Robinson has announced that Jay Golan has joined the Graduate Center's Office of Institutional Advancement, effective November 11, as Vice President for Institutional Advancement and Executive Director of the Graduate Center Foundation. Golan will be responsible for providing direction and leadership for the Graduate Center's advancement office and development efforts.
Golan, an experienced fundraiser, has spent the greater part of his career at some of New York City's most venerable institutions. He comes to the Graduate Center after sixteen years in development at Carnegie Hall, ultimately serving as Senior Director responsible for all fundraising and board activities. Previously, he served as New York Public Library's Corporate Coordinator, and as Director of Development at WNYC Communications Group. Most recently, Golan was president of the Birthright Israel Foundation. He has also served as a consultant in strategic planning, development, and institutional marketing, and worked on projects with prominent cultural and nonprofit institutions. He earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in history from Harvard University; he also studied at the University of Oxford.
