Ken Wissoker, Editorial Director at Duke University Press, Adds New Duties to Convene Public Programming at the Graduate Center

NEW YORK, February 26, 2014 -- The Graduate Center, City University of New York, has announced that Ken Wissoker, the Editorial Director of Duke University Press, will add to his portfolio the role of Director of Intellectual Publics at the Graduate Center, beginning fall 2014.

Mr. Wissoker will also be appointed Visiting Distinguished Lecturer at the Graduate Center.

He will develop and convene programs for the Graduate Center, the university, and the public that will facilitate thinking and debate across the disciplines.

Ken is a marvelous editor and has a keen grasp of some of the very best current scholarship in the humanities and social sciences," said Louise Lennihan, the Interim Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs. "He has a substantial international and national network of scholarly contacts, and it is a very exciting prospect that he will draw on them in his programming at the Graduate Center. The entire New York scholarly community and intellectual public will benefit from Ken's presence."

Mr. Wissoker is one of the most renowned editors in scholarly publishing. He has published close to 900 books at Duke University Press, which have won over 100 awards in fields across the humanities and social sciences. He is a noted speaker and consultant on all aspects of academic publishing and the contemporary intellectual landscape.

Wissoker will continue in his role as Editorial Director for Duke University Press, acquiring books and guiding the editorial program.
