Mimi Abramovitz Named Top Social Work Leader by NASW

Professor Mimi Abramovitz (GC/Hunter, Social Welfare) has been named a Top Social Work Leader by the New York City Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) in recognition of her "outstanding leadership in the social work profession in New York City."
 
The NASW, the world's largest organization representing social workers, develops and promotes professional standards for social work practice, including its Code of Ethics.
 
Abramovitz is also the Bertha Capen Reynolds Professor of Social Work at Hunter College's Silberman School of School Work and the chair of its Social Policy Curriculum Area. Earlier this year, she was named a member of the NASW's Social Work Pioneers program, which honors members of the profession whose dedication, commitment and determination have improved social and human conditions.

The award will be presented at the NASW's annual awards dinner in New York City in December.
