Professor Kyle Gorman Received a PSC-CUNY Grant
Gorman received a PSC-CUNY grant for research that addresses how children acquire language.
Professor Kyle Gorman (Linguistics) received a PSC-CUNY grant for research titled Indirect negative evidence and defectivity." The study addresses how children learn language, particularly verbs that are "defective" or cannot be expressed in all tenses or with all subjects, such as beware, stride, and forgo.
Linguistics Ph.D. student Lucas Ashby will be working with Gorman as his research assistant.
The grant started on July 1, 2021.
