Professor Robert C. Smith Wins the Award for Public Sociology in International Migration

Professor Robert C. Smith was recently named winner of the American Sociological Association's Award for Public Sociology in International Migration.

Professor Robert C. Smith (GC/Baruch; Sociology/Sociology, Immigration Studies, and Public Affairs) was recently named winner of the American Sociological Association's Award for Public Sociology in International Migration.

He has long studied the effects of DACA. He was the lead writer of an amicus brief supporting DACA, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, in the recent U.S. Supreme Court case. 

He spoke The Graduate Center about the Supreme Court's ruling and its ramifications.

Smith is a faculty member of the International Migration Studies program at The Graduate Center, CUNY.
