Psychology Student Wins APA Award

Karyna Pryiomka (Critical Social/Personality Psychology) has won this year's Division 26 (Society for the  History of Psychology) prize for best student paper presented at the annual meeting of the American Psychological Association, which was in August. Students are invited to submit their papers for consideration, and they are adjudicated by a three-person committee. The award went to Pryiomka for her outstanding paper "Traces of Humanism in Russian Metaphysical Psychology at the End of the 19th Century."

Pryiomka is a second-year doctoral student. Broadly, her research interests include history of psychology, social justice, dialogism, critical statistics, qualitative methodologies, and pedagogy. She currently teaches statistics at Hunter College and serves as a cochair for the 2013 Pedagogy Day conference.
