Dear colleagues,

We write to remind the Graduate Center community of the building entry protocols that are still required for CUNY students, faculty, staff, and visitors, and to share information about changes to Graduate Center entry protocols for 1-day visitors.

The current building entry policy includes a new COVID-19 Health Screening Building Entry Matrix that explains the types of identification and proof of vaccination that are required to enter the building. The current building access hours and other information on building access requirements can be viewed on the General Building Access Information website.

We are pleased to note that individuals who are coming to the Graduate Center for only one day may present either a CDC vaccination card or the NYS Excelsior Pass as proof of vaccination, or may present proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test (copy of the lab results). One-day visitors include individuals who are prospective students, guest speakers, certain researchers and participants in research, and members of the general public who are attending a public program or a campus event.

Campus hosts for 1-day visitors must inform the Office of Public Safety about their guests who will be coming to the Graduate Center. This can be done by sending an email to secuirty@gc.cuny.edu, with a copy to jflaherty@gc.cuny.edu, that includes the visitor’s name and the purpose of the visit. This message should be sent at least 24 hours before the scheduled visit.

Recurring visitors, those who are coming to the Graduate Center for re-occurring campus visits (e.g., participation in research, multi-day colloquia/seminars, emerita faculty, visiting scholars/professors, etc.) or as an assigned work location (vendors/contractors), must request a CLEARED4 CUNY Access Pass for Visitors at least seven days before the first scheduled date of visiting the Graduate Center. Request CLEARED4 CUNY Access Pass for recurring visitors by submitting the Request CLEARED4 CUNY Access Pass for Visitors Form.

We ask all who come to the Graduate Center to continue to monitor their health. If you are feeling sick, get tested and stay home. Although wearing a mask inside CUNY buildings is currently optional, wearing a mask is still recommended.

Thank you for your continued attention and cooperation.
