Adrienne Ammirati

Adrienne Ammirati is a third year doctoral student in the Audiology (Au.D.) Program. While obtaining her bachelor’s degree at the University of Pittsburgh, Adrienne studied Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Linguistics and certificate in the Foundations of Medicine. She graduated summa cum laude and served as the President and Founder of the Pitt PanthEARs. This was the university’s first ever student organization whose primary initiative was promoting the awareness of audiology and the importance of hearing healthcare among the student community and greater Pittsburgh area. With a strong passion for professional advocacy, Adrienne joined the national Student Academy of Audiology’s (SAA) State Ambassador task force during its pilot year in 2017 and now serves in the position of New York State Student Ambassador. Additionally, Adrienne is currently serving as the President of the CUNY Graduate Center’s SAA chapter.

Upon the completion of her Au.D., Adrienne hopes to remain involved in professional advocacy as a member of the American Academy of Audiology’s Political Action Committee-Advisory Board.

Adrienne has been recognized by both the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) and the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) as the recipient for the 2018 Student Leadership Award and the 2018 Student Academic Research Travel Award. Additionally, her capstone research investigating the maximum dB output limits of pediatric marketed headphones is being supported by the CUNY Graduate Center’s Doctoral Student Research Grant.

Adrienne is excited to begin her clinical residency year with ENT and Allergy Associates of West Nyack and take this pivotal step towards the final chapter of her Doctoral career.
