SelfieCity Team Creates Project for Sao Paulo Festival

Professor Lev Manovich (Computer Science) and his selfiecity.net colleagues Moritz Stefaner and Jay Chow have created SelfieSaoPaulo, a site-specific visualization for the 2014 SP_Urban Digital Festival, which runs from June 9 to July 7.

The project is on view on the media façade of the Centro Cultural FIESP in central Sao Paulo. Individual Instagram selfies from Sao Paulo are animated and sorted by age, gender, or degree of smile, displaying the diversity of Sao Paulo's residents and their self-expression.
