Steve Greenbaum Named Jefferson Science Fellow

The U.S. Department of State has selected Steve G. Greenbaum (Prof., Hunter), executive officer of the Ph.D. Program in Physics, as a Jefferson Science Fellow for 2014-15. The fellowship program, in its tenth year, is designed to build capacity for science, technology, and engineering expertise within the State Department and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).

Greenbaum's research involves spectroscopic studies of disordered solids by magnetic resonance and synchrotron x-ray absorption, most recently on materials for electrochemical energy storage and conversion (batteries and fuel cells). Greenbaum, a Fellow of the American Physical Society, also serves on the doctoral faculty in chemistry.
