Allyson Ganster is a PhD student in Cultural Anthropology at the CUNY Graduate Center. She holds a BA in Anthropology and International Relations and Global Studies from the University of Texas at Austin. Her ethnographic research explores the everyday modes of resistance to anti-Blackness and the carceral state among the African Diaspora in the Americas, with a focus on urban areas in Brazil and the United States.
