Beatriz Lado is an Associate Professor of Spanish at Lehman College where she serves as the director of the Interdisciplinary Linguistics Program and teaches Spanish and Spanish Linguistics courses. She is also affiliated with the Ph. D. Program in Latin American, Iberian, and Latino Cultures at the Graduate Center. She received her Licenciatura from the Universitat de València, her M.A. in Linguistics from Louisiana State University, and her M.S., and Ph.D. in Spanish Linguistics from Georgetown University. Before coming to Lehman she was Assistant Professor and Language Coordinator at the University of San Diego. Her research uses computer modeling to explore the intersection of cognitive capacity, feedback, and second-language acquisition. Her current work explores ideologies, identity, and investment in multilingual Spanish classrooms taught under a critical pedagogical approach. Her publications have appeared in journals such as Applied Psycholinguistics, Bilingualism: Language & Cognition, Language Learning, Foreign Language Annals, Language Teaching Research, International Journal of Multilingualism, Hispania, and the Encyclopedia of Language and Education
