Corey Beckford

Corey received his B.A. in philosophy from Lake Forest College in 2019, and was a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Scholar (DEIS Scholar) at Brandeis University, where he received his M.A. in philosophy in 2021. His research is primarily focused on Immanuel Kant’s theory of race, and its systematic role throughout his critical moral and aesthetic theories. His research also concentrates on critical philosophy of race and racism, in particular, the work of Charles W. Mills; critical race theory, especially the works of Derrick Bell, and Tommy J. Curry; and the history of philosophy of race and racism. Outside of philosophy, Corey enjoys playing Blazblue, fine dining, and working out.
