Damaris-Lois Yamoah Lang

Dr. Lang has over seventeen years of experience in higher education and work as a full-time faculty at The City University Of New York – Hostos CC, in the Natural Sciences Department. She is the program coordinator for both the Liberal Arts and Science A.S. degree and Science for Forensic Science dual degree programs. She also serves as a member on the board of the Youth Council at Hastings-On-Hudson. Dr. Lang’s research interests include paternal behaviors – focusing on external inputs that influence the development of paternal care and the brain areas involved in the process – using the monogamous prairie vole species, Microtus ochrogaster. Her other research interests are in understanding sensory pathways and learning – focusing on how physiological and experiential inputs influence content understanding and retention of academic content in humans – and the brain areas involved in the process. Outside academia, Dr. Lang hold forums on science and faith.
