Dr. Elisabeth Brauner is Professor of Psychology at the Psychology Department of Brooklyn College, and member of the doctoral faculty in Cognition, Brain, and Behavior at the Graduate Center, The City University of New York. She received her Ph.D. from Georg-August-University in Goettingen, Germany, and the Venia Legendi (Habilitation) from Humboldt-University in Berlin, Germany. She is interested in the relations among cognition, communication, and social structures. Current research focuses on transactive memory, communicative processes of knowledge acquisition, and its application to knowledge management and organizational learning. Her lab group has developed several methods for investigating transactive knowledge and knowledge transfer using both questionnaires and interaction coding systems. Dr. Brauner has international collaborations with researchers in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. From Spring 2005 to Fall 2008 she was Head of the PhD Program in Psychology: Cognition, Brain, and Behavior at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York.
