Fenfang’s research interests include Late Antique Egyptian monastic visual and material culture, interconnectedness of the eastern Mediterranean world in the first Millennium C.E., and western reception of ancient Egypt since the Renaissance. Her Ph.D. dissertation will tentatively be examining legacy data of a monastery excavated one hundred years ago, exploring the distribution of objects and the human-thing relationships in the architectural space.
