Gonzalo Martínez Herrera earned his degree in Biology by the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) with a dissertation focused on the plant ecology of a fragmented semiarid grassland. During his MSc at Instituto de Biología (UNAM), he explored the perceptions of climate and its changes of Nahua Indigenous farmers and their relationships with changes in management practices of the milpa agroecosystem. As a result of his previous research, Gonzalo is interested in understanding the multiple relationships between people and their environments, and how they historically unfold to produce climate change vulnerability in Mexico.
