Dr. Norouzi is a full professor in the Department of Construction Management and Civil Engineering Technology at New York City College of Technology where he has been a faculty member since 2011. Prof. Norouzi completed his PhD in Civil Engineering (Water Resources, remote sensing) at the City University of New York. His research interests lie in the area of using GIS, remote sensing and ground measurement information in geoscience and earth system sciences. It includes using satellite information in climate studies, urban climate, urban heat island, studying lakes, vegetation structure profile, soil moisture estimation, snow cover prediction, precipitation, and estimation of soil freeze/thaw states.

He is the director of Undergraduate Research Office at City Tech and has been involved in several undergraduate research and education grants from NOAA, NASA, NSF, USAID, DoD Army Research Lab. He is a registered Professional Engineer (PE) and a member of American Geophysical Union (AGU), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
