My research engages issues of spatiality, political economy, and race in American art and culture. Specifically, the scholarship I have conducted deals with landscape painting and legal geographies as complementary aesthetic regimes; Modernist appropriation of Indigenous religious and art practices in the American South West and California; and the valency of visual and ideological frameworks associated with technology and esoteric religion.
