Jennifer Collett is an Assistant Professor at Lehman College in the Early Childhood/Childhood Education Department. Her research examines the intersection of learning and identity for emergent bilinguals and multilingual learners in urban public schools, specifically in how teachers take up research-based practices to leverage learners' assets. Her work has appeared in Bilingual Research Journal, International Journal of Qualitative Studies in Education, Action in Teacher Education, and Journal of Language, Identity and Education. Currently she is a co-Principal Investigator of the project, Liberatory Learning through Design Thinking, researching how K-12 urban educators are using the principles of liberatory design thinking to co-construct mindsets of equity and empathy to transform curriculum and pedagogy.
