John F. Marra

I came to Brooklyn College in 2007, after a career at Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory. I have been engaged in a number of oceanographic programs over the years, from the interaction of physical oceanographic processes with biology, how ocean optical properties affect the biology (and vice-versa), and how to understand global ocean primary productivity, from in situ as well as from space-borne sensors. Since coming to Brooklyn College, I've also become interested in Brooklyn's waterways, for example, Jamaica Bay and Prospect Park Lake.
