Laura Suárez is a doctral student in Art History. Prior to joining the program she worked in the Art Department at Wellesley College. She worked as an associate producer for Cuban-American artist María Magdalena Campos-Pons' short film "When We Gather," shot during the Winter of 2021. Past work includes sensitive reading for historical publications, editing and translating artist writing, and independent curating. Suárez's research interests include decolonial theory, the intersection of art and politics, narratives of empire, artivism, and performance.
