Joy Cytryn ’s research area is Jamaica Bay. For the past eight years, her work focused on land use and land cover change and the bay’s environmental history. Currently, she is exploring the complicated relationship between Jamaica Bay’s Gateway National Recreation Area, a national park and the John F. Kennedy International Airport.
