Nehal Amer is a Ph.D. student in cultural anthropology at the Graduate Center, City University of New York (CUNY). Her research focuses on the anthropology of development, urban space, securitization, and media. She holds an M.A. from the University of Michigan in Middle Eastern and North African Studies. Nehal currently teaches anthropology at City College and is a program analyst with Carnegie Corporation of New York's Arab Region program.
