Research Interests

  • Caribbean zooarchaeology dating back to the Pre-Columbian time periods.

Reaksha is an adjunct lecturer at Brooklyn College and Hostos Community College. Prior to joining the program, she volunteered at the Nelson Dockyard Museum in Antigua, West Indies, where she worked on collection management and created exhibitions on Colonial life in Antigua. She also interned at the Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle in Paris, where she analyzed and identified Zooarchaeological material from Indian Town Trail, Barbuda, West Indies. Reaksha’s dissertation focuses on understanding faunal remains, dating from 500 BC-1100 AD, recovered from a multi-phase Pre-Columbian site of Indian Creek on the island of Antigua, West Indies.
