This book is the Proceedings of the XXVI International Colloquium on Group Theoretical Methods in Physics held in New York in June 2006. There are approximately seventy-five original research contributions and a short obituary of Professor Yuval Ne-eman, who was one of the founders of this series of colloquia. The contributions include new applications of group theory in major subfields of physics including particle physics, field theory, and condensed matter. The book will be of interest to physicists, chemists, and mathematicians. Joseph Birman (Dist. Prof., City) serves on the doctoral faculty in physics.
