Visiting Faculty (Salaried)

Occasionally, a program may invite a faculty member from a non-CUNY institution to teach for either a single semester or an academic year. This is usually a full-time position with salary based on the appropriate professorial schedule in the PSC-CUNY contract. Authorization to invite a Visiting Professor must be obtained from the Provost and is subject to the availability of a funded line. A letter of appointment is sent to the visiting faculty member by the Provost. If a visa is required, a worksheet for completing Form IAP-66 must be filled out well in advance of the scholar's visit so that a J-1 visa may be requested under the Exchange Visitors Program. See the Human Resources (HR) for specifics. HR will arrange an orientation meeting to discuss benefits and distribute policy material to the visitor.
